Ohana means Family.....

........and it's quite the coincidence that I used the title "Family" on this layout with the Ohana Kit .....I didn't even know what Terri had named the kit until this evening!
<-----This is my family...a few summers ago, on a beach in Oregon. We had a fantastic road trip....the light was so pretty this evening on the beach in Lincoln City....I just keep creating layouts and projects with the photographs from this trip. That's ok...good memories can be revisited, over and over and over again.. :) I'll be posting more pics of the things I created with the latest kit from Color Me Miki this weekend.
Happy Halloween everyone! :)

Handmademovement.com & Sneak Attacks!

Just a little while ago Andrea from KitsandCaboodles.etsy.com asked me to help keep a thread in the etsy forums "bumped" up to the top............well, I've been happily helping to bump up, cheer on, and participate in SNEAK ATTACKS ever since!

What is a Sneak Attack? Here is what the Handmademovement.com website has to say:

What's a Sneak Attack? Every weekday at an appointed time, an Etsy shop with few or no sales is announce on this site. As many people as possible then buy items from that shop, resulting in a frenzy of surprise business to the unsuspecting shop! Want to join in? I bet you do! Read on...
Below is the current Sneak Attack schedule. To participate, show up on this site at or soon after the time of the next attack and you'll see the chosen shop name. Then go to that shop and purchase an item, making sure to include the words "Sneak Attack" in the "message to seller". The shop owner will also be informed of what is happening so they know just what is going on. Think you're too late for today's attack? Wrong! If the shop name is still up below, please go and make a purchase!

There is always a corresponding thread in the Etc. section of the Etsy forums to go along with the current Sneak Attack, click HERE to go visit the current one, for today, Monday. Please go take a few moments to go check it out or bookmark it for later.....it's a fun, positive, and SNEAKY thing to do! :)

Shophandmade.com

Little Red Cottage is expanding. Already. Goodness.

I recently read about shophandmade.com, and I was pretty impressed with what I saw. I really like that the sponsors are paper crafting or rubber stamping online websites. Paper is what I love. It's what I DIG. So LRC built another cute little red cottage on the next block over. The website is still in beta mode.....I am hoping there will be forums? a way for customers to contact me? a way for other sellers to contact me?

It's good to have your eggs in more than one basket. Or...maybe have TWO baskets.... ;)

I've added a clickable blinkie down on the right-hand side there, it will take you to my newly acquired little piece of real estate over on shophandmade.com ....feel free to click on it and look around...whew....another something to keep track of. :)

Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Frankenstein!

Mr. & Mrs. Frankenstein are just two of the fun characters in this FUNKY HALLOWEEN MINI ALBUM. I put together a fun mix of basic orange polka dot paper by Doodlebug, and Cosmo Cricket's latest Halloween collection to create this mini album. All the layers of paper are distressed and machine sewn. (You would be so PROUD of how fast I can load and change out the bobbin now!) You'll find them in the Little Red Cottage ....along with some fabulous SPOOKY and TRICKY Halloween Tags.
I had help in decorating the house for Autumn last night....my crafty and design-minded daughter unloaded the fall decor bins, and really set everything up in a fabulous way. The acorn doesn't fall from the tree. :) I'll snap some photos to share soon!

Little Red Cottage is featured at.....

....Sheila's blog.... wrappedNwarmth ! I am happy to be among some other really terrific Etsy picks this time around! What a terrific idea....I may have to do that very, very soon! :) Thanks so much, Sheila!

Journal de Jardin.....Created with a Color Me Miki Kit....

This garden journal was created using the most recent Color Me Miki Kit.... Vintage Lass.....it was SOO fun to make....the mix of Webster's Pages patterned papers...and Sassafras Lass patterned papers.......just to die for! The bazzill cardstock included in this kit was yummie......those of you that know me...know that it takes a lot for me to get excited over cardstock..I am pattern girl. ;) I plan on putting photos of our backyard landscaping (before & afters) that was completed this summer.... I used a method to make the back and front covers that I learned while taking an art journal class of Terri's...I hope to perfect it a bit more and make some unique journals to list in my shop soon.
On the way: MORE SPOOKY THINGS!!!!!!!! The sewing machine has been running all mornings....tags & another hauntingly cute Halloween mini book coming to the shop....SOON!

Let's Go A Haunting............

Just listed this SPOOKY HALLOWEEN MINI ALBUM at Little Red Cottage this afternoon......what a wonderful way to keep all those Halloween photos together....this is a not-so-mini album, it's a 8" x 8"...and full of plenty of room for those snapshots of pirates, monsters, gory guys, and fairy-tale princesses!
I also listed some freshly cut Garden Goodies made with the lovely Dill Blossom Collection from SEI....and the Yard Sale destash table has a few new additions to it!
Go check it out! More Halloweenie Goodness to come!

So what did you do this weekend?

.........did you do anything fun? creative? did you get to sleep in?

I did all three!

My weekend started with scrapping and creating with my good friends at Pink Pineapple Scrapbooks, my favorite scrapbook store ever.....here is a layout that Terri created to display in the store....she asked me to create some Garden Goodies , or paper posies for her layout....so I obliged her! You can see them in action in her layout, "Cute Friends".

Saturday.....we headed down to MCAS Miramar to watch the Air Show ....we met my sister and her family down there, and had a great time watching all the awesome airplanes and jets........the Blue Angels and Fat Albert were mind blowing! We plowed through bags of kettle corn, and walked it all off by walking instead of taking the shuttle bus back to the parking lot! Go us!

I slept in this morning. Way in. Caught up on some badly needed REM sleep with some really crazy dreams. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh.....

Yard Sale--Cottage Style!

I've been meaning to set up a destash section ever since I opened Little Red Cottage, and today was the day that finally got accomplished. Go me! Let's face it, we scrapbookers and paper crafters are constantly stashing, restashing, and destashing...so....

....this is going to be one of those on-going yard sales...you know the ones....the ones that are set up every single weekend.

But it will be good stuff, so check back often! Here we have PINK CHIPBOARD LETTERS! So come on through the picket fence gate and see what goodies await you!

Vintage Lass!

....is the name of the newest Color Me Miki Kit! I designed two layouts, and a mini album using both the main and add-on kits ...........and it was SO FUN! My friend Terri just keeps outdoing herself with these kits....the color selection of bazzill cardstock was just spot on for this kit! The clouds and owls in the Sassafras Lass chipboard sheet, oh my!.........so fun and easy to work with! There are yummie buttons, a Jenni Bowlin vintage sticker sheet, pearl ribbon, and lots of other fun goodies to play with! I'll be posting more pics of what I did with Vintage Lass later on this week!
